A PRF liquid facelift is a non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatment that uses a patient’s own blood to address facial concerns. Concentrated PRF, or platelet-rich fibrin, is injected into the face. This treatment can be used from brow to chin, but injections are often concentrated in the under-eye area, cheeks, nasal labial folds and jawline.
PRF is often considered the next generation of PRP, platelet-rich plasma, treatments. To obtain PRF, blood is centrifuged at slower speeds and without an anti-coagulant. The PRF liquid facelift is performed in two stages. First, a few vials of blood are extracted. The extraction process is similar to getting your blood drawn for lab tests. We don’t need to extract a lot of blood, usually just 2-3 vials for a full-face treatment.
The extracted blood is placed in a centrifuge (a machine that spins rapidly) to concentrate the PRF. While you wait, a topical numbing cream is applied to the face to make the injections more comfortable.
When the PRF is ready, it is injected into the face.
Your treatment will take 30 minutes, depending on the area of the face receiving treatment. Plan on spending a little additional time with us as we prepare your PRF and wait for the numbing cream to take effect.
When your treatment is finished, you can immediately return to work or other daily activities although your face may be slightly red temporarily.
